Getting your KDP book in front of new readers is one of the biggest challenges of self-publishing.
You can have a great story, a strong Amazon listing and consistent social media content, but discovery still depends on reaching people who are genuinely interested in books.
That's why I built my Promote My Book opportunity around my growing Pinterest reader audience.
Instead of simply posting a book and moving on, I use Pinterest to create another opportunity for suitable KDP books to be discovered by readers exploring books and recommendations.
My Pinterest Books Recs Page has been growing for months around one core purpose:
Helping readers discover what to read next.
It currently generates 62K+ monthly reader impressions, with almost 2K+ daily impressions and approximately 36K+ total readers.
The audience is also 88%+ female readers, with 56% coming from the United States.
Since creating the page, I've reached 800K+ readers.
So when I promote a suitable KDP book, I'm not trying to find a new audience for every campaign.
I'm introducing the book into an audience I've already built around books.
I don't want your book promotion to feel like a generic advertisement.
Before creating the promotional angle, I look at what makes the book appealing to its potential reader.
That can include its:
Genre.
Themes.
Tropes.
Characters.
Mood.
Story experience.
A romance book may need a completely different approach from a thriller or fantasy book.
The objective is to make the right reader recognize the appeal quickly and think:
“This sounds like something I'd actually read.”
That's the type of curiosity I want the promotion to create.
Pinterest is particularly interesting for KDP book marketing because readers can discover content through search, related Pins and recommendations.
They don't necessarily have to follow an author before discovering their book.
A reader searching for romance recommendations, thriller books, fantasy books, spicy reads or another specific interest can potentially encounter a relevant promotional Pin.
And because Pins can continue appearing through Pinterest search after publication, the discovery opportunity isn't necessarily limited to the first few hours.
Of course, that doesn't guarantee permanent ranking, clicks, sales or Amazon ranking improvements.
It simply creates another potential path to discovery.
My Pinterest Books Recs Page belongs to the reader community I've built.
I don't want it to become a page where every submission automatically gets promoted.
That's why not every KDP book is accepted.
I'll review the book based on factors such as:
Genre fit
Reader appeal
Presentation
Themes and tropes
Overall audience suitability
If I believe the book genuinely fits my readers, it can be considered for promotion.
That selectiveness helps me maintain the quality of the audience while keeping the promotional content relevant.
My approach is built around a simple discovery path:
Reader Interest → Pinterest Search → Book Pin → Curiosity → Book Page
The promotional content gives the reader an opportunity to discover your book.
Your Amazon page then gives an interested reader somewhere to explore it further.
That's why I focus on Pinterest SEO, reader-focused positioning and visual book promotion rather than simply creating another graphic and calling it marketing.
If you're an indie, self-published or Amazon KDP author looking for another way to create book visibility, my Promote My Book opportunity gives you access to an audience I've already spent months building.
My Pinterest Books Recs Page currently reaches:
62K+ monthly reader impressions
Almost 2K+ daily impressions
36K+ total readers
88%+ female readers
56% United States readers
800K+ readers reached since creation
If your book genuinely fits my reader audience, submit it through the “Promote My Book” section on my website for consideration.
You don't need to wait for your audience to grow before creating another opportunity for readers to discover your book. 📚📌
